Baptist Missions are pleased to announce the appointment of Ken Scott as a part-time Mission Promoter. This is a new role and Ken is now available to churches across Ireland – helping to develop mission mobilising strategies; providing practical teaching and training on mission; as well as promoting the work of Baptist Missions. A key task will also be assisting with the orientation of new workers before they are sent to their field of service.
With his wife Jeannie, Ken served with Baptist Missions in Peru for 7 years and was instrumental in establishing the radio work in Tacna (El Sembrador/The Sower Radio). That interest continues to this day and Ken will be seeking to develop fundraising initiatives to ensure Radio El Sembrador stays on the air.
Ken says: ‘I am grateful to the Lord for opening a door to serve with Baptist Missions in the Lord's work and can’t wait to get stuck in. Mission is rooted in Christ’s redemptive purpose for the world and this has always been close to my heart for as long as I can remember. I look forward to working with local churches in the promoting of mission and, with them, being involved with what the Lord is doing in the world..’
Ken will also continue as a part time postgraduate tutor with the Irish Baptist College.
