We live in a culture where, in every sphere of life, we so often expect answers instantly and solutions to all our questions. I first read this book when I found myself living in a very different culture where ‘mañana’ (tomorrow) is the accepted approach to questions - but the question “why?” is still a part of our daily lives. Whatever culture we live in suffering is universal and Ron Dunn draws from scripture and his own traumatic, personal, experiences to redirect our focus to God’s purpose in our lives. When Heaven is Silent has helped me to “pause”, take a deep breath, learn from scripture and see how trials contain, more often, God’s richest blessings for each of us.
